Fruit Acid Peels

Fruit acid peels, such as Lactic Acid peels, are used to improve the texture and tone of the skin. The acid in some fruit contains a natural chemical called glycolic or lactic acid. When applied to the skin, this fruit acid helps to remove the damaged outer layers of skin, making way for the new layers of skin underneath. The fruit acids also stimulate production of collagen in the new skin cells, which helps to improve skin elasticity and volume.

A series of fruit acid peels are usually given over a few months, depending on the condition of the skin. Following treatment the skin tone is more even, and the skin looks smoother and more radiant. Fruit acid peels can also be used to treat acne scars, age spots and pigmentation problems.

All medical and skin cancer treatments are carried out in our southern Sydney, Kogarah, skin cancer and cosmetic surgery clinic.
